Limited Scope: These type of warranties are not as broad in scope as you might first think. They will frequently be very limited in what they will actually cover. As with any warranty, read the fine print. Value to the Consumer: Most potential damage from power surges is covered by standard home owners insurance policies. We do not see any point in charging a customer again for protection they are likely to already have. Cost: Offering large blanket policies are very expensive. In contrast to Panamax who focuses providing surge protection to the mass market, Audio Power is concerned with the smaller high performance market. As a result, Panamax can spread the cost of their warranty over a much larger number of units. With the limited utility of such a warranty, we do not feel the cost is worthwhile. |
