Audio Power currently has two Power Pack models. The Power Pack II delivers 6 outlets in a slim line case. It features a high quality AC filter, the same surge protection as the Power Wedge products, a detachable cord using the industry standard 15 amp IEC 320 input, and two outlets labeled digital which offer separate filtering. The digital outlets can be used for analog equipment if there are no digital pieces in the system. The other Power Pack is the Power Pack V. Designed with home theater in mind, the Power Pack V has 12 outlets in three banks of four outlets each. One bank of outlets is configured for amplifiers, and the other two for audio and video components. Four of the component outlets are always powered for components such as VCRs which have clocks, while the remaining four component and four amplifier outlets are controlled by a front panel switch or the remote feature. The Power Pack V comes in a 19 inch rack mount case with the outlets mounted on the rear panel. Like the Power Pack II, it offers a high quality AC filter, surge protection, a detachable 15 amp IEC 320 cord, and filtering between outlet banks. The Power Pack V filter is superior to the one in the Power Pack II in that the various section are optimized for either amplifiers or components. For systems with components offering AC convenience outlets, the Power Pack V offers a power sensing cord that will allow the Power Pack V to sense when the controlling component is turned on. The Power Pack V will then power up the rest of the system. |
