The isolation transformers of the Ultra Wedge are dispensed with. The Power Pack filter is not as sophisticated as the one in the Ultra Wedge. What the Power Pack does have is a non resonant filter to clean up the incoming power, the same surge protection offered in the Ultra Wedge line, an all metal case, and the ability to offer some isolation of components via the separate filtering. It provides an even better bang for the buck by dispensing with the costliest features of the Ultra Wedge. It is ideal for a moderately priced system where the more expensive Ultra Wedge would be out of place.
